Rick Dean Thornton

Ricky (Rick) Dean Thornton was born on July 17, 1953 to Lonnie Thornton and Darlene (Miller) Thornton in Portland, Oregon. Rick passed away on November 23, 2020 at the age of 67.

Rick was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather.

Rick worked as a disc jockey for years before he started working at Oregon Funeral Service (OFS). He worked there for 20 years. He then ended his work of the funeral service at Neptune Cremations and retired in 2011. Rick loved to sing karoke, play guitar, play card games with his mom, and spend time with his grandchildren. Family meant the world to Rick.

Rick was preceded in death by his father Lonnie, son RIcky, wife Dorothy Jean, and many others. He is survived by his mother Darlene Thornton, sisters Debbie Franklin, Darla Thornton, brothers Dave, Russ, and Mike Thornton. Fiance Jackie Strahle, daughter Julie (Chris) Zimmerman, Michelle (Raul) Garcia, son Kurt (Karla) Thornton and his 9 grandchildren; Gabrielle, Baylee, Estagen, Jacob, Harper, Allen, Madison, Sydney, and Brianna.
