Dick was raised (was such a small place it wasn't big enough to be called a town) in a village Hancock, Wisconsin. He joined the Air Force when he was 17 which brought him to Portland, Oregon. On his 21st birthday he met the love of his life Norma Lou Gibson and 6 months later they were married. They had 2 children Greg and Deanna. In 2002 Norma Lou passed away from cancer. He married Joan Casola in 2003 until she passed away in 2019. Dick worked for Tom Benson glass later named Benson Industries for 33 years when he retired at a job he loved. But Benson's asked him to come out of retirement for 3 years to run jobs in Chicago and Hawaii where Norma Lou went too. When the kids were growing up they spent their summers water skiing and camping in Round Butte with their friends. They also loved to play Bunco. Later on they joined The Oregon Camper Club. They went to Yuma, Arizona in the winter and they enjoyed it so much being with their friends and going to Mexico. Dick is survived by his two children James "Greg" Gregory Wright (Sue) and Deanna Louise Wright (Robert Brooks), his 4 grandchildren, granddaughters (Deanna's daughters) Melissa Loveday, Kelly Anderson, and Emily Jerome (Jimmy), and grandson (Greg's son) Sean Wright (Stacey), 4 grandchildren (Melissa's children) Alex and Lilly (Sean's children) Logan and Rebecca, his brother Cecil Bruce Wright (Linda), his two sisters Ann Sigourney and Mary Bagby (Jim), sister in law Bev Wright, nephews Todd, John, Rob, and Seth, stepchildren Mike (Linda), Lin, Terri Montgomery (Dwight), and Susan Wright (Greg), 6 step grandchildren, 9 great step grandchildren, his best friend of almost 50 years Fred Pearson, Todd and John Wright and their families, and Rob and Seth Bagby and their families. He is preceded in death by his dad Cecil Wright, step mom Jo Wright, his mom Velma Olsen, step dad Oscar Olsen, his brother Tom Wright, and brother in law Frank Sigourney. We hope to have a memorial for Dick in the future. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. He will be missed.
