Raymond "Andy" Jackson, Sr. passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home in Sandy, Oregon.
Andy was born at home on March 24, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to John C. Jackson and Tirzah A. (Miller) Jackson. He was the youngest of eight siblings. As a child, Andy attended Orient Grade School and Sandy High School.
On February 14, 1953, Andy married the love of his life, Elvina June Burlingame, in a ceremony held in Battleground, Washington. During their 68-year marriage, Andy was a loving father and grandfather to 6 children, 12 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his love for his family, Andy loved his career as a truck driver for the heavy/long haul division of Gresham Transfer where he retired after 37 years of service and over one million miles driven. Andy enjoyed spending time with family, listening to Jazz, hunting, and fishing. He was also known as a gifted storyteller sharing his days on the road with anyone who would listen.
Andy was preceded in death by his mother, father, and eight siblings. He is survived by his wife Elvina, daughters La Lonnie (Greg), Cris (Dean), Arlene (Alan), Teresa (Bob), Dawn, son Andy Jr. (Kris), his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
