MARCIA "YVONNE" FLYNN
In the early hours of April 3, 2020 Marcia "Yvonne" Flynn, loving Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend passed to eternal paradise at the age of 67 from kidney disease. Yvonne was born September 8, 1952 to parents James Edwin and Marcia Mae Flynn.
After graduating from Centennial High School in 1970, Yvonne went on to pursue a career in accounting, earning her degree from Portland State University. She worked as an accountant for the Bonneville Power Administration and several small businesses. She grew up in the Sandy and Portland area, and lived for a time in Grants Pass, OR. In 2014 , Yvonne moved to Kailua, Hawaii to be near her daughter, Erykah. She returned to her childhood roots in 2017.
Yvonne followed her grandmother's love of the violin and played in middle and high school bands. She loved crafting and was quite accomplished at crocheting and cross stitch, making gifts for Family and Friends. She was a frequent volunteer at the Sandy Community Center through her church. While in Hawaii, Yvonne volunteered as a leader in community programs.
Yvonne is survived by her parents, Jim and Marcia Flynn of Sandy, OR; daughter Erykah of Kailua, HI; sisters and brother-in-laws Pam Flynn of Vancouver, WA; Dianne and Jim Jillson of Troutdale, OR; Robin and Larry Cretsinger of Vancouver, WA; Candias Gardner of Sandy, OR; brother Shaun; and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Yvonne was preceded in death of her son Ernest "Shane" Swartsfager in 2008. Her ashes will be released to join Shane's in Kailua, HI at a later date.
At this time, a celebration of Yvonne's life is not possible. The Family is hoping to remember and honor her at a future date.
