Louis (Lou) Scott Elam went home to the Lord on March 31, 2020. Lou was born November 14, 1931 in Live Oak, California. His parents were Emory Ellis Elam and Atha Thelma (Eichler) Elam. Lou was the eldest of 6 children. The family moved to Gresham the summer of 1947. Lou attended Gresham High. In April of 1950, just before graduation, Lou and a friend joined the Marines. Lou spent from November of 1950 to December of 1951 in Korea, driving ammo truck to the front lines. He finished his tour at Camp Pendleton, California. He stayed in the San Diego area attending San Diego State College. Lou lived in the Bay Area where in Oakland, Calif. he meant Judith White, his wife of 45 years. In 1990 Lou and Judy moved back to Oregon to be near family. Lou owned a Postal Annex for 13 years in Clackamas, Oregon. He retired in 2002. In 2007 Lou and Judy started attending Cornerstone Church in Gresham. In 2010 Lou accepted the Lord and was baptized.
Lou is survived by his loving wife Judy, sister, Mildred(Elam) Otto her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother, Danny Elam, his daughters, Danielle Lynn (Elam) Jackson, her two daughters and Molly Marie Elam, sister Toni (Elam) Pinkston her children and grandchildren, son, Scott Alan Elam and daughter, Lizlie Joan Elam and grandson, John Michael (Jake) Elam. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie and Larry Elam.
Lou will be interned at Willamette National Cemetery when services
can resume.
