Judith Ann Butler, 75, died on Thursday February 2nd, 2023, In her home in Woodburn, Oregon where she resided with James Butler. Our beautiful mother suffered a massive stroke on January 14th only to be transferred home for hospice where she was surrounded by those who loved her the most.
She was born on August 2nd, 1947, in Portland, Oregon to Faye and Lee Gregson. She grew up in Boring, Oregon and went to Sandy High School where she graduated in 1965. She married her high school sweetheart, Dan Nichols right after high school and went on to have three children, Jeff, Andrea, and Cathy.
Judith spent her career working at JC Penny in the drapery department. She always enjoyed meeting people and helping them find the right window treatments for their home. She also really enjoyed the people she worked with and made some lifelong friends. She also absolutely LOVED her pets. She had some interesting pets such as a parrot named “bird”, a bunny named “Bugsy”, and her most favorite pets were her two Dachshunds “Lizzy” and “Mikey”. They gave her constant companionship and unconditional love. She enjoyed cooking their meals every single day and wouldn’t let them eat anything but nutritious home-cooked food such as chicken and rice.
Judith loved to garden and plant flowers every spring to watch them blossom and grow throughout the season. In her younger years she also loved the game of golf and was very active in the fitness scene. As she got older, she continued exercising by walking her dogs throughout the neighborhood.
A hobby of Judith’s was watching professional football. She was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and wouldn’t miss a game. On February 12th, 2023, we know she was smiling from heaven as she watched the Chiefs beat Eagles to win the Superbowl.
She was preceded in death by her parents Faye Palmer and Lee Gregson and stepfather Dave Palmer, her brother Pat, her sister Michelle, and her sister Nancy.
