Gene Albern King

d. November 24, 2018

Gene Albern King, 77, of Boring entered heaven unexpectantly in the morning hours at home on November 24, 2018. His bible was open on his desk to Revelations 4 which speaks of heaven and a door standing open, and a voice saying "Come up here."

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:30pm at Good Shepherd Community Church 28986 SE Haley Road, Boring.

Gene was born February 1, 1941 in Gahanna, Ohio to Benjamin and Genevieve Dean King. He graduated from Willis High in 1959, in Delaware, Ohio. He married Lorie Beth Kochheiser January 25, 1963 in Marion, Ohio. They met at Malone College in Canton where they both graduated in 1964 with education degrees. Gene began working for United Airlines May 1962 at Akron-Canton airport, transferring to Portland, Oregon in May 1965, retiring after 35 years. He served in U.S. Army from January 1967 to December 1968. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Community Church for over 40 years serving as a deacon for many of those years.

He is survived by his wife, Lorie, of 55 years, sons Shane (Kelly Jo) of Gresham, Jesse (Stephanie) of Camas, WA, one sister Linda (Ron) Watson of Hebo, Oregon and two granddaughters, Collette, also called Coco and Genevieve King.
